Writer. Adventurer. Currently working on The Dreamless City, a series of steampunk novels and short stories.
Music is a huge part of my creative process, whether it is grooving in the car thinking up new ideas or playing the same songs over and over to catch a mood for a particular scene. Sometimes I obsess on a song for weeks at a time. With time being such a precious commodity, music shortcuts the time for me to get in “the writing zone.”
I’ll be updating my playlist on Saturdays.

“Forest Whitaker” by Bad Books – I know you hate me too, always say you do. Always makes me think of a couple that feels passionately, though you’re not sure if the love or the hate is stronger.
“Infra-red” by Placebo – Somebody call an ambulance, there’s going to be an accident. This is something that the badass guy or gal says before the fists begin to fly.
“Amsterdam” by Imagine Dragons – These walls are crashing down, and I keep coming up short. Sometimes you only thought you’d hit rock bottom.
“Joker and the Thief” by Wolfmother – Can you see the joker flying over, as she’s standing in the field of clover, watching out every day, wonder what would happen if he took her away. So very fairytale, I’d love to do a story that started here and soared past the second star to the right and straight into the sun.
“Help I’m Alive” by Metric – I tremble, they’re gonna eat me alive, if I stumble, they’re gonna eat me alive. Maybe it is figurative, maybe it is paranormal-literal. Either way, life’s gonna be rough for this gal.
Songs and lyrics that inspire me to write stories.
