Saturday New Music Playlist

Music is a huge part of my creative process, whether it is grooving in the car thinking up new ideas or playing the same songs over and over to catch a mood for a particular scene. Sometimes I obsess on a song for weeks at a time. With time being such a precious commodity, music shortcuts the time for me to get in “the writing zone.”

I’ll be updating my playlist on Saturdays.

March 16, 2013

Obsessing on “Believe” by American Authors
Listening to “This Fire” by Birds of Tokyo
“We the Common (For Valerie Bolden)” by Thao & the Get Down Stay Down is on my playlist
Also listening to “Say That”by Toro Y Moi
Just added The Mowgli’s “San Francisco” to my playlist
Also discovered The Orwells “In My Bed” (yeah, I couldn’t resist)
And of course “So Good at Being in Trouble” by Unknown Mortal Orchestra

I’ve been listening to a lot of new music lately(at least it’s new to me). Thought these songs were worth sharing.

Do you ever listen to a song until you get sick of it, or ration a song because you love it too much to let that happen?

Yes, I definitely listen to songs until most people would be sick of them. However, my threshold for listening to the same song, watching the same movie, or reading the same book is very high. I almost got tired of Fun.’s “We Are Young” before moving on to Imagine Dragons’ “Amsterdam.”

And sometimes makes you dance around your living room like a fool.

‘Like a fool” is the only dance I know.
