I’ll Try Anything Once

In a follow up to my post last week about cover songs and whether they were better than originals, I’d like to share another cover I have been enjoying lately. They covered The Strokes’ “I’ll Try Anything Once,” which is an early version of “You Only Live Once” that was released in March 2006 as a B-side in the UK.

 Would You Kindly

I also have a small favor to ask. One of my Aussie friends posted a survey today on her blog Stuffnatsays.

If you are an avid reader or an aspiring writer, please take the time to complete this short survey questionnaire. I am looking into the reading and writing habits of people in a growing and evolving online world. If you or anyone who know are aspiring writers and passionate readers, please pass along.

So if it isn’t too much to ask, would you kindly take the small survey below if the paragraph about pertains to you.  I’m sure we can talk her into sharing the results of her survey if enough of us participate.

Props to Some of My Camp NaNoWriMo Friends

Camp NaNo 02 Some of us are doing this crazy thing where we are going to write a book by the end of April.  50,000 words in 30 days.  It isn’t something for the faint of heart… or the rational…

Story Teller Davis
Shane’s Book Blog

If you are also embarking on this crazy adventure, let me know.  I’d love to visit your campfire and toast some marshmallows.

 Let Me Back In

One of my favorite songs of all time is Rilo Kiley’s “Portions for Foxes.”  To say that I am obsessed with the song doesn’t really come close to it.  Here’s another newish song sung by Jenny Lewis I thought was worth sharing.  Enjoy!  (Now it is back to the salt mines, er, writing for me.)

And to answer the question everyone was asking when they read the title of the post, no, I won’t try anything once… but that line does get a little fuzzy and is often preceded by the phrase, “Here, hold my beer…” ;) Those of you on spring break this week, don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!

I am only doing 30,000 words. I want to feel good about myself. Kess82 is my tag.

I think 30k is a respectable goal. I wish you the best of luck! You’re welcome to graham crackers and marshmallows at my campfire anytime, but you have to bring your own chocolate. There’s some things a girl doesn’t share. ;)

    Please, don’t feel bothered, though.
