Did I Leave This Thing On?

Holy plot bunnies, Batman!  Did I leave this blog running unsupervised all summer.  Why yes, I certainly did, and look at the mess it made on the rug.

I’m back like white on rice, gluten on spaghetti, and tapioca on pudding…  Okay, that last one didn’t work (and demonstrates that lunchtime rumbling in my tummy).  xD  Mostly, I just wanted to say that I’m back.

Why did I wander off this summer?  Frankly, between work, family, writing, and some projects I was working on, I just couldn’t juggle it all.  Something had to give, and this blog was one of those things.  I was sad to see it fall by the wayside, and I am happy to come back to it now that a couple of projects have wrapped up.  :D

It also bears mentioning that Dragon*Con was awesome this year.

Currently I’m trying to clean up a couple of short stories for a 10/15 submission deadline, whew!  I’ve also been slogging through the big swampy middle of The Dreamless City.  There is a tidy storyline in there somewhere; I just have to find it.  Feels like California circa 1849 on the good days, the Dustbowl circa 1930 on the bad ones.

Anyway, I’m happy to see that the Internet has carried on in my absence. ;)  I’m not going to promise that it won’t ever happen again, but I don’t see myself going on walkabout anytime soon.

I’d love to hear what everyone has been up to this summer.  Tales of love and loss, success and opportunities for growth especially welcome.  :)  BTW, did I mention that I’m back?

And I just wanted to share that I’m obsessing on this song. If you aren’t familiar with CHVRCHES, a Scottish synthpop band, I suggest checking them out. “The Mother We Share” and “Recover” are also awesome tunes. Enjoy!

Awww, thanks! I am happy to be back. My summer was lacking in amusement without the witty comments and lolcats to make me smile. :D

As for the coffee, considering all the writing I am planning, I might need a second cup!! O_o

        You’re most welcome.
I think you need a very strong cup of coffee that would both add and remove the hair from one’s chest. and that would nudge a writer to type 2000 word per a minute, his/her mind teetering on the edge of madness
