I Make My Own Luck

This writing thing is pretty solitary business, and I only have myself to be accountable too. Looking back on this weekend, geez, I didn’t meet my expectations. The free time was there, but I thought that reading Scott Lynch’s Republic of Thieves was oodles more fun than working on my own manuscript.

For my ROW80 goals, between Wed and Sun, I did 1200 words. That’s pretty meh when I consider it was written during the week, and then I goofed off over the weekend. I need to buckle down better this week. Short story to be wrapped up shortly; then I’m moving on to my novel WIP. Wish me luck!

Btw, Republic of Thieves is really awesome. The series began with The Lies of Locke Lamora and continued with Red Seas under Red Skies; the third installment in the series, which came out last week, does not disappoint. I might do a book review on them, so I won’t waste everyone’s time here, but if you like action, adventure, and schemes just crazy enough to work, then these are the books for you.

And of course, some music for your audio pleasure. ;)

Best of luck. I think I may try my hand at the next round ROW80.
